Hello everyone! Feeling very silly asking this question!.. but I'm having trouble cutting fabric to size needed. So, say I have half a metre of fabric, but I need to cut say a 10" x 16" peice of fabric. .how do I get the fabric straight and then how do I measure/cut this size out? I'm using a cutting mat, rotary blade and 24" ruler... but never end up with the fabric straight or the right size?? It's so frustrating! I'm a fairly new sewer and having been binge watching all of Debbie's videos and have lots of her books, as I find her such a good teacher.. but the nearest I can find to my question is Debbie's tips on using the ruler/ cutting mat to cut angles, which btw also helped enormously..maths is not my strong point lol! Any tips or pointers to a video on this would be amazing...thanks ????
