Hi Debbie and fellow members, I'm making the messenger bag using faux leather and want a quality topstitch look around the top opening of the bag and around the bag flap. I'm using Gutermann Topstitch thread in my top thread and Gutermann general purpose thread in the bobbin and it's not a good result. The stitches from bobbin side look like a birds nest and the top thread has missed stitches and stitches of varying length (I'm using a 3.5mm stitch for topstitching). I've tried all sorts such as reducing the top thread tension, I've bought topstitch needles but still no luck. I have a Brother sewing machine only 2 yrs old and I'm an experienced sewer. Any tips to help?
