Hello, I treated myself to some new sandals this morning and, of course, I now need a bag to match. The sandals are navy and tan - sounds naff but they're lovely and sooooooo comfy - that's the important bit for me! OK, so, I want a smallish crossbody bag and I have some navy blue cotton light weight canvas and some natural coloured cork fabric which I bought from Debbie Shore shop a few months ago. My idea is to make the bag in the two fabrics joined horizontally but would I be best to have the canvas at the base or the cork? bearing in mind that I want to slightly box the bottom out a bit. and also can I make the strap from cork as I would have to join the canvas as there's not quite enough to make the strap in one piece.
