Once your quilt blocks are sewn together, it's time to add a finishing touch with borders!

Borders frame a quilt beautifully and can also help square up a quilt if necessary, giving it a polished, finished look. Inspired by the stunning countryside around my home, I have designed this quilt-as-you-go project using a combination of white-on-white and floral fabrics, with the addition of sashing and borders. However, if your intended room or recipient requires a different style, you can easily swap out the floral fabrics for other patterned fabrics, creating a quilt that’s truly unique to you. For more experienced quilters, consider adding additional blocks or borders, such as a ribbon border using the quarter square triangle technique, or even a custom design of your own!
