Rick Rack Block of the Month #2 | Quilt Sew-Along (2021)
Easy |
Quick Links: What you'll need Project steps
Sew a block of your Seminole patchwork quilt, inspired by a favourite traditional trim.
Suitable for beginner stitchers, the zig zag design of Debbie Shore's block would make a striking border around a quilt or table runner. Its sharp angles and contrasting colours create a visually appealing pattern that draws the eye, making it an excellent choice for framing your quilt. Although it looks complicated, it’s actually quite simple to sew once you understand the quilting technique.
I have used 19¾ x 21½in (50 x 55cm) fat quarters to cut my strips; if your fabric is wider, then please cut your fabric to these measurements first.
Unfinished block size: 18½ x 4¾in (47 x 12cm)
