Harlequin Block of the Month #3 | Quilt Sew-Along (2021)
Easy |
Quick Links: What you'll need Project steps
Sew a stunning chequered design, one of the simplest Seminole patchwork effects.
We are now onto block three of our quilt-along: the Harlequin. While it is beautifully effective in a patchwork quilt, I also see it working as a border around the bottom of a jacket or in the centre of a table runner. This versatile quilt block can be expanded by making the panel larger or experimenting with different colour combinations to create a unique effect. Once you've finished your Block of the Month quilt, you’ll be inspired to explore new ways to incorporate this block into other projects.
I have used 19¾ x 21½in (50 x 55cm) fat quarters to cut my strips; if your fabric is wider, then please cut your fabric to these measurements first.
Unfinished block size: 18½ x 7½in (47 x 19cm)
