Bauble Tree Block of the Month #9 | Christmas Quilt (2022)
Moderate |
Quick Links: What you'll need Project steps
This month's festive quilt block by Debbie Shore celebrates Britain’s favourite winter decoration.
This Christmas quilt block is made with machine piecing, and is a little more complex than some of the previous quilt blocks because there are lots of seams and small pieces to cut. Machine piecing in quilting is the process of sewing fabric pieces together using a sewing machine to create quilt blocks or patterns. It involves stitching pieces of fabric, often in a specific order, to form the desired design. This technique is faster and more efficient than hand piecing and is commonly used in modern quilting.
To account for the number of seams, I suggest you stitch with a scant ¼in (5mm) seam allowance. Before you cut out the little pieces of Background fabric, spray them with starch to help them retain their shape.
Untrimmed block size: 10in (25.5cm) wide x 12½in (31.75cm) deep
