Boxed Craft Tote Bag | Sewing Pattern With Video Tutorial
Easy |
Quick Links: What you'll need Project steps
If you've been in the swing of getting your home organized these last few months, here's the perfect caddy to store all your crafting essentials!
This handy boxed-based bag has a choice of two flaps – one to cover the whole of the top of the bag, and one that leaves the sides open so you can carry longer items such as rulers and seam gauges. If you like either option, and have a nice pile of fabrics just waiting to be used, why not make both?

You will need:
Equipment
- Sewing machine

- Erasable fabric marker pen
- Strong wet fabric glue, such as Gütermann’s HT2
Materials
- 15 x 30in (40 x 76.25cm) piece of lightweight, single-sided, fusible foam stabilizer – I have used the In-R-Form Single-Sided Fusible Foam Stabilizer by Bosal
- 34 x 12in (86.5 x 30.5cm) piece of outer fabric
- 44 x 24in (112 x 62cm) piece of lining fabric
- Magnetic snap clasp
- 48in (122cm) length of 1in (2.5cm) wide webbing
- Buttons, to decorate – I’ve used two buttons which I have then knotted together
- Optional: hand-needle and thread, crewel needle and embroidery thread/floss or strong wet fabric glue, for sewing on the decorative buttons
