Christmas Present Patchwork Cushion Cover | Sewing Pattern
Easy |
Quick Links: What you'll need Project steps
Debbie Shore's festive cushion cover sewing pattern is perfect for the holiday season, but can happily sit in your living room all year round!
If you haven’t tried patchwork before, this is a good place to start because the pillow design is quite simple and goes together easily. At the centre of the gift design is a block of nine alternating squares in three rows of three. This is called a basic nine-patch block, and you’ll come across it a lot if you decide to take your patchworking skills further. All the pieces in this easy cushion design are cut as squares or rectangles, and there are no fiddly pieces to deal with. I recommend using a non-directional fabric for the best effect, in two contrasting colours.
I’ve used a 16in (40cm) pillow pad which makes my pillow nice and plump; take out a little of the filler or use a 15in (38cm) pad if you’d like a flatter look.
Finished size: 15 x 15in (38 x 38cm)
Note: Use a ¼in (5mm) seam allowance unless otherwise stated.
