To celebrate the launch of the book I have written with my daughter, Kimberley Hind, we'll show you how to refashion your scraps of old denim and turn them into chic feather keyrings!
Do you have torn-up jeans, or scraps of denim that aren’t quite large enough to make into larger homewares or garments? These simple-to-make feathers make an effective keyring accessory for bags, and are great for making use of awkward-sized denim scraps.

You will need:
Equipment
- Fabric shears
- Erasable fabric marker pen
- Ruler
- PVA glue
Materials
To make two feathers:
- Two 7in (18cm) squares of salvaged denim: Kimberley and I cut ours from an old pair of jeans
- Keyring
- Optional: 9in (23cm) diameter embroidery hoop (see the variation at the bottom of the instructions)
