Learn how to make Maddie's first outfit!
I have used a sweet, ditsy-floral fabric for my dress (see how to make Maddie here), but this pattern would look lovely in other fabrics, too – why not try a faux tartan cotton, courduroy or even broderie anglaise?
Finished size: For fitting a 26in (66cm) doll.
Note: Use a ¼in (5mm) seam allowance throughout unless otherwise stated.

You will need:
Equipment
- Sewing machine
- Fabric shears
- Safety pin
- Optional: hand-sewing needle
Materials
- 2 x 1yd (2 x 1m) piece of fabric
- Two press snap fasteners and pliers, or two sew-in snap fasteners
- 10 x 14in (25.5 x 35.5cm) piece of felt
- 26in (66cm) length of ¼in (5mm) wide elastic
- 18in (45.75cm) length of pre-made covered piping or 22in (56cm) length of ribbon
