What better way to teach little ones to tidy up than by making them this sweet and cuddly laundry bag? These cute woodland creatures – whether you create a cuddly long-eared rabbit or a shy little mouse – are perfect for any nursery, providing convenient storage for toys, hair accessories, nightwear, and, of course, laundry! We've also added brand new sewing patterns for an elephant and a cat, or why not try designing your own animal laundry bag?
I love that it provides a whimsical decoration to the room, as well as being useful. When I make these for my grandchildren or to give as gifts to others, I like to match the colours and embellishments I use to the personality of the child, creating something unique to them that will be used for years to come.
Use a ¼in (5mm) seam allowance included in the pattern.

You will need:
Equipment
- Sewing machine
- Fabric glue pen
- Pink blusher
- Erasable marker pen
- Safety pin (optional)
Materials
- 42 x 24in (106.75 x 61cm) of patterned fabric, for the bag base and frill: mine is stripe
- 40 x 18in (101.75 x 45.75cm) of plain fabric, for the bag top and lining: I have used white
- 24in (61cm) square of grey felt
- 6in (15.25cm) square of pink felt
- 6in (15.25cm) square of paper-backed fusible web
- 50in (130cm) length of ½in (125mm) wide ribbon
- 26in (66cm) length of ¼in (7mm) wide ric rac
- 26in (66cm) length of ¾in (20mm) wide bias binding
- 6in (15.25cm) length of 1in (25mm) wide lace
- String of beads, at least 6in (15.25cm) long
- Two buttons, for the outfit
- Two buttons, for the hat brooch
- Pink and black embroidery floss/thread
- 7oz (200g) of polyester fibrefill/toy filling
