Reversible Kimono Style Jacket | Dressmaking Pattern
Easy |
Quick Links: What you'll need Project steps
Learn how to pattern draft while sewing Debbie Shore's reversible kimono style jacket.
This loose-fitting reversible jacket can be worn two ways, making it a versatile addition to any wardrobe. Use two contrasting fabrics that work well together, one plain and one patterned, for a striking result. I’ve used patterned viscose for one side and plain cotton for the other, but any fabric that drapes, like satin, brocade, or lightweight wool, would work well. Add a belt to create another look!
This jacket pattern offers three sizes to choose from: UK sizes 8–12, 14–18 and 20–22 (US 4–8, 10–14, 16–18 / EU 34–38, 40–44, 46–48). Since you will be drawing up the simple pattern yourself, you can take the opportunity to make any other basic adjustments you would like, such as making the jacket longer or shorter. The reversible jacket design is approx. 27in (68.5cm) long. If you want to make it longer, add another ½ yard (0.5m) of each fabric.
Note: Use ½in (1.25cm) seam allowances throughout.
