I’m sure this stylish stocking won’t be put away after Christmas – fill it with silk flowers to make a beautiful year-round decoration!
Embellish your stocking with anything you like: ribbons, lace, flowers, leaves and beads, you really can’t add too much! Keep the colours neutral to create the same vintage look or swap them out for reds and greens if you prefer a more traditional stocking! You can even add a name to each stocking and personalise them. This project was originally published in my book Half Yard Vintage, pick up a copy for more vintage-style projects and ideas!

You will need:
Equipment
- A man’s sock, card and pen to make a template
- Hot glue gun
Materials
- 30 x 18in (76 x 45.75cm) fabric: I used linen
- 30 x 18in (76 x 45.75cm) lining fabric
- 30 x 18in (76 x 45.75cm) fusible wadding/batting
- 30 x 4in (76 x 10cm) strip of fabric, frayed by
- 1in (2.5cm) along one long side
- 12in (30.5cm) ribbon to hang
- Six strips of lace in different widths, 10in (25.5cm) each in length
- 20in (51cm) bead trim
- 24in (61cm) ribbon and 24in (61cm) lace to decorate the back of the stocking
- 24in (61cm) ribbon and 24in (61cm) lace to make bows
- Handful of buttons and seed beads
- Three 8 x 5in (20.5 x 12.75cm) pieces of hessian/burlap to make the flowers
- Three pearl beads
