Wonky Beach Hut Bag
Moderate |
Quick Links: What you'll need Project steps
You've created the original beach bag – here's a fun, bright variation inspired by your favourite wonky world!
This is a fun alternative to this month's patchwork beach bag, although I’ve left off the pockets and used cotton webbing for handles. If you’d like to add pockets or make fabric handles, simply follow the Beach Bag instructions. And remember: you can use the appliquéd section as a pillow cover too!
Although I’ve used free-motion embroidery, you could use a straight stitch on your sewing machine if you prefer

You will need:
Equipment
The same as for the Beach Bag, including a free-motion/darning foot
Materials
The same as the Beach Bag, apart from the following:
- 14 x 5in (36 x 28cm) blue fabric for the sea
- 14 x 12in (36 x 31cm) yellow fabric for the sand and sun
- Fabric scraps in fun bright colours for the beach huts
- Fusible adhesive sheets (such as those by Bondaweb)
- 14 x 9in (36 x 23cm) tear-away stabilizer – thin interfacing would work as well
- Optional: 46in (117cm) length of cotton webbing, for the handles – you may need more if you add the zip pocket on the back
