Flying Geese Border Block of the Month #1 Quilt (2020)
Easy |
Quick Links: What you'll need Project steps
Use Debbie Shore's Flying Geese tutorial to make a classic quilt block.
I am beginning with the border of our quilt, made with a patchwork favourite a Flying Geese block. You will make sixty-four Flying Geese blocks for your quilt in total, and I have included a tip below on using a quick piecing method that allows you to create four at a time. You will have plenty of time to complete these borders during the course of the year, so don’t worry if you don’t finish them in the first month! I would, however, advise you to cut the required number of 6¼in (16cm) squares at this stage.
Block size: 5in (13cm) wide x 2½in (6.5cm) long finished; 5½ x 3in (14 x 7.75cm) unfinished
Note: Use a ¼in (5mm) seam allowance, unless otherwise stated.
