Peach Cobbler Block of the Month #8 | Quilt Sew-Along (2023)

Debbie Shore's quilt block features a famous patchwork design, inspired by a dessert.

The Peach Cobbler quilt block is a traditional pattern known for its simple design, which is perfect for beginner quilters. It typically consists of a combination of squares, rectangles, and half-square triangles (HSTs) arranged to create a block with a balanced, symmetrical look.

All the units for this block are machine pieced, and some feature a design you’re all likely very familiar with now – the Half Square Triangle (HST). In addition, we’ll be introducing a new design, a ‘Square within a Square’. This is cleverly pieced by adding right-angled triangles all around a small square, and is easier to create than you may think.

Untrimmed block size: 12½in (31.75cm) square

Edited 03/08/2023: When this pattern was released, unfortunately there were two errors published. We are very sorry about this. The size of the FAB7 square, in the materials list; should be 27/8in/7.5cm square. In addition, the image in step 5 should show the first HST rotated so that the FAB2 triangle is in the top-right corner, not the bottom-left corner. All text and imagery have now been corrected.
