Eco Lunch Bag Set | What Kimberley Makes Sewing Pattern

You can sew an eco-friendly sandwich wrap and lunch bag set with just a few fat quarters!

I've invited Kimberley from What Kimberley Makes to share her easy patterns for a handmade sandwich wrap and lunch bag, perfect for celebrating Earth Day. Over to you, Kim!

Hi, my name is Kimberley and if you didn't know already, I am Debbie's daughter. I've been sewing for the past few years after my mum was finally able to persuade me to try it, and now I can't stop! Here's a sandwich wrap and a co-coordinating lunch bag that I've designed which I think you'll enjoy – they're not only easy to make but reusable, too, so no more wasting plastic food wrapping. These are great for kids and adults, and depending on the fabric you choose, they can be personalised to each person in the family.

The lining for the wrap and bags is made from PUL, which is a laminated, waterproof fabric that can be easily wiped clean. Be sure to buy PUL that is BPA- and phthalate-free, as this is safer for food products. I’ve made the lunch bag in two sizes, depending on how big you’d like it (or how much food you want inside it!). I'll be focusing on the smaller bag for the steps below, but I have also given advice on how to make the larger bag right at the bottom of this page.

Hope you like them!
