Suitable for beginners, you can make an easy cushion cover using these instructions for any quilt block or piece of fabric 12in (30.5cm) square (when trimmed, for quilt blocks). Why not use this cushion project to display a piece of fabric that holds special memories, or to showcase a particularly lovely print? You'll learn how to mitre corners on a border, which creates a clean, professional finish. You'll also learn how to insert a concealed zip that is positioned at the back of this simple cushion cover.
Debbie has used the Flag quilt block from our sew-along. The finished size of this quilt design is 16in (40.75cm) square.
Use a ¼in (5mm) seam allowance throughout.
After making up and trimming your block or featured fabric, this is what you will need to prepare:
