Robyn’s Day Outfit
Moderate |
Quick Links: What you'll need Project steps
Robyn the Rag Doll is ready for some outdoor fun with his denim dungarees, T-shirt and boots!
Robyn’s T-shirt has snap fasteners down the back to make it simple to get on and off. It’s made from jersey fabric, which is easy to sew and doesn’t fray, so the seams don’t need finishing. It could easily be made from upcycled clothing – an unwanted T-shirt or large baby grow would provide all the fabric you need. For a winter alternative, Robyn’s checked boots could be lined with fleece.
Why not make Maddie a set too, and then they can play together! Maddie’s outfit could match Robyn’s, or you could choose fabrics to suit her personality.
Not too confident with buttonholes? You could use snap fasteners or hook-and-loop fastenings on the dungarees instead. (There is now a buttonhole tutorial video on the techniques page! Take a look here)
If you haven't made Robyn already, take a look at his pattern here! Just remember his body is made in exactly the same way as Maddie's; only his face and hair are different.
Note: Use a ¼in (5mm) seam allowance throughout.
