Gnome alone - Which erasable pen do you use for the beard lines? I can't use heat erasable because it disappears when ironing, I can't use water erasable because it'll become permanent when ironing and my other pen (don't know what it's called) is white and the beard is white, so no go there....

I use this one https://www.debbieshoresewing.com/shop/books-haberdashery/sewline-air-erasable-fabric-pen-pink/

Am devastated, making my batwing top for a wedding this weekend, couldn?t see in the neck band & the feed dogs ate my fabric & now there is a big hole in it!
Laura replied: 14 Jul 22 at 10:28
Have you managed to rescue it ? You probably have enough material to cut another neck binding ..you could cut it slightly longer so that you can deepen the neckline a bit to remove/avoid the hole if it is in the body fabric. Have a lovely time at the wedding.

Hello everyone. Just a quick questions. I downloaded the batwing top pattern and I want to make it in a medium size. Does anyone know how much fabric I should buy? Thank you all and have a great day. Heather

Hi Bev. I've made my first top. Came out well. Bought some more Jersey fabric to make another this week. Good idea about highlighting the line. Some look pretty similar. Have a great week. Bye bye.

BOTM Present galore - I can't get the math to work in step 7, with the second present in the middle. I only get 2 squares, like in the photo. There should, in my world, be 2 more squares but according to the instructions there are only two 3" squares, one in BG and one in 2nd red. In the photo, the flowered fabric is my 2nd red and the white BG. What should I do? What am I missing?

Awesome, thank you so much!

I would love to make the exploding box and wonder if anyone has other ideas what to use it for? I don?t want to use it for sewing items.
Rachel replied: 14 Jul 22 at 23:20
Thank you Laura. Another great idea.

Hi members. I?m thinking of making a spare set of bedding for our motorhome . Could you advise me what is the best fabric for bedding? Ideally something that doesn?t crease too much because we don?t iron ????

Does anyone have any tips on how to clean a cutting mat? I recently cut a *lot* of velvet, and I've got hundreds of streaks of fluff on my mat that seem impossible to get out. Does anyone have any tips please? Or do I just need a new cutting mat at this point... (see pic)
Alice replied: 13 Jul 22 at 12:31
I've used a rubber after cutting fleece and it worked

Hello, I am going to try the July 2022 project (Holdall) can I use a continuous #5 zip (with two pulls) instead of the two x 12" zips and if so would I need to adjust the fitting to maybe sew it in at 3/8"? Thanks in advance!
Laura replied: 6 Jul 22 at 20:54
Debbie used continuous zip and 2 pulls on the Sewing Machine Bag project that she did n here last year so I would think that it would work very well on the holdall. The video and instructions are still on here for the sewing machine bag so might be worth having a look to see how she fitted the zip and then adapt as necessary.
