Does anyone know the thickness of the felt used for Maddie?s shoes and hat? I?ve run out of the black and the felt I have is way too stiff. The outfit is complete but poor little thing has cold toes. Help, please?
Debbie replied: 28 Oct 21 at 16:57
I just used a craft felt, it's about 1/'8" thick...

Hi, I've finished making the multi use caddy/baby bag and the fusible foam has wrinkled the fabric all over the body of the bag. Is there any way to fix this without dismantling the whole bag and peeling the fabric away from the foam? Also, what did I do wrong that caused this to happen so I can avoid it in future?
Rona replied: 30 Oct 21 at 13:16
Thanks Debbie, yes it is Bosal foam. I'll try to steam it again and hope for the best!

Hi, Can someone please help me re choosing which wadding to use if a project doesn't state which type other than saying to use it with repositional spray when putting fabric together. I'm a complete beginner to sewing and I find wadding totally confusing as there are so many to choose from. The project I'm looking is a glasses/sunglasses case that doesn't use fusible wadding. Thanks. Jennifer
Jennifer replied: 25 Oct 21 at 17:43
Thanks Debbie. There is such a multitude of wadding available and I've still to learn what one needs for what project. I love your books and I've learned a lot from your tuturials although I've a long way still to go!

Hello there! I was just reviewing the Block of the Month Quilt for 2019. I cannot seem to locate the information for the quilt as you go component. All the blocks are there, as is the adding sashing and binding, but there are no instructions as to how to actually quilt the individual blocks "as you go". Is there perhaps a post missing? Thanks for your help.
Kellie replied: 26 Oct 21 at 05:41
Thanks everyone! I was looking amongst the monthly block links and didn't look far enough. Looking forward to making this quilt! But first, I have to make Debbie's most recent oven glove project for my sister for Christmas.

Hi, Debbie's circular zipped pouch is lovely & I thoroughly enjoyed making one in Christmas fabric, however, my hand sewing is rubbish! Is there a way that you can machine stitch the opening & it not show on the outside? Thank you.
Debbie replied: 25 Oct 21 at 17:17
Difficult with this one as if you sew by machine you'll be trapping the outside seam which will show, the seam will be on the inside so don't worry about wobbly stitching!

Is there a template for the pink dungarees Maddie is wearing in the pic with Robyn
Megan replied: 21 Oct 21 at 16:00
It?s the same one as robyns : Why not make Maddie a set too, and then they can play together! Maddie?s outfit could match Robyn?s, or you could choose fabrics to suit her personality.

Hi, I am making the spring wonky cushion, I am doing the window boxes with the scribly greenery and I keep getting big clumps of cotton on the back and the top cotton snapping (hate threading the needle!) I am using a new universal needle, any ideas what I am doing wrong?
Michelle replied: 20 Oct 21 at 18:49
Lovely thanks will give that a try - loving half yard club, only been a member less than a week and have made loads!

Should I use a ball-point needle to sew elastic onto a waistband? Any tips would be appreciated.

I am going to make a bag out of the flower cork what would be the nicest for lining
Debbie replied: 18 Oct 21 at 17:06
I'd use a contrasting fabric, maybe pick up on the colour of the flowers in the cork...

Hi Debbie. On Wednesday can you please demonstrate knotting a needle? I just can?t do it like you. I tie mine and end up with a mini birds nest. Thank you

Thank you so so much. I have finally got the hang of it.
