Hello, I am a new member! I am very happy to have joined and be able to see the lovely projects. I would like to make the pencil skirt. Do any of the members know if it would be easy to add a lining to it? Should I just make another skirt out of a lining material and stitch it to the inside? Thank you in advance.

This should be quite simple, cut the lining to the same pattern but slightoly shorter, you won't need the facing around the waistband...

Looking for some advice please. I have never used linen before and want to make trousers. Do I overlock the edges before washing the fabric or will it not fray much. Thank you
Debbie replied: 9 May 21 at 12:14
If you have an overlocker I'd say yes, in fact with any garment you make it's advisable to finish the seams...

Just watched YouTube Debbie?s live box cushion tutorial. It was fab. Always avoided these type of cushions but the way Debbie demonstrated made it look achievable. Fingers ????I?m going to have a go. Also check this other cushion Debbie has just put on her sewing web.

Hi I'm just about to start a wonky house door stop and I'm a bit confused about which foot I need on my machine. I have a brother 2500NT. I've seen the phrase free motion or darning foot, also a walking foot. Are they all the same thing? I dont have one, so I dont want to order the wrong. Thanks
Megan replied: 7 May 21 at 11:44
You need the free motion
