Thank you for the suggestions. I took a chance and fused the foam the to cork. It fused well enough for my purposes. I am happy with the results.

I hope someone can help - I'm trying to free motion embroider the wonky cushion but my stitches are loopy and messy and the back is completely bunched up thread. Im using free motion foot and my feed dogs are down. What am I doing wrong?
Angela replied: 31 May 21 at 10:33
I've tried everything, I even bought a new foot but it still isn't working for me. I ended up doing regular sewing on the wonky cushion !!

I?m wanting to make the bumbag for my mom. She has a neck problem and can?t carry handbags or bags on her shoulders so she uses bumbags a lot. However it?s difficult finding ?pretty? ones so I want to make her one in pretty fabric. Where can I get the buckle from ? I?ve looked on Debbie?s website and Amazon. Amazon have little ones but not one of the size I need

Hello fellow sewers, I want to make my granddaughters simple summer dresses with shirring elastic around the bodice. Do I need double the chest measurement or one and a half of fabric please? Thanks. xx
Debbie replied: 22 May 21 at 10:22
I'd go for one and a half, but if you can make the elastic tighht you may be able to use more, see if your pattern will allow tou to cut the fabric down to size if it doesn't 'shirr' enough!

Hi, I am making the painted faces messenger bag from Debbie?s you tube channel. I want to make a cross body strap but the leftover fabric isn?t long enough, does anyone have any ideas?
Alanna replied: 14 May 21 at 18:19
Thanks Barb! I measured across my body & I need 56 inches. Do I need to add any more to that to make it adjustable?

Another question from me, newbie here. Watching Debbie on a Saturday morning, she often brings out an ironing mat which I am sure she has made. Is there a pattern for it, please? Also, my sewing table is made of glass, and although I have made a sewing machine mat to put the sewing machine on I would like to make a protector for the table which maybe could double up as an ironing mat.
Katherine replied: 15 May 21 at 14:03
I use table protector from Dunelm, it's a sort of beige colour with a white fleece backing, I then put a table cloth on top of that and then my sewing machine mat. I'm sewing on my pine dressing table at the moment but I used to sew on a glass table and this is what I did then, plus, I'm looking to get a glass top for my dressing table to protect the wood.
