Baa-bra the Sheep | Plush Toy with Pattern to Sew
Easy |
Quick Links: What you'll need Project steps
Baa-bra is an absolute cutie, with ‘arms’ open wide ready for a hug, who could resist such a sweet plush toy? An easy sewing project with templates and a video.
Baa-bra is another character in the collection of Chumleys, best friends with Twitch the rabbit (see Cuddly Easter Rabbit Toy). She is soft and lovable, with beautiful big eyes. I’ve used teddy fleece for her body and tail, and polar fleece for her face, ears and limbs. The stretch in the fabric makes it easy to work with and, as it doesn’t fray, there’s no need to finish the edges.
You’ll also need a small amount of woven fabric for Baa-bra’s inner ears and bow. This is an excellent opportunity to use fabric leftover from a previous project: I used the same fabric for both inner ears and both bow pieces, but you could use different fabrics if you wish, and perhaps even a scrap of ½in (1.25cm) lace for the wrapping section of the bow.
Try making Baa-rry as a companion, and if you love this project, keep an eye out for future plushie toys in this series, including a cuddly pig.
Templates
There's a choice of two different sized templates for this project:
By the end of this project, you’ll have:
- Made a cuddly soft toy that someone’s going to love.
- Gained confidence sewing with two types of fleece.
- Practised your machine and hand-sewing skills.
Note: use a ¼in (5mm) seam allowance.
Finished size: 21 x 14 x 3½in (53.5 x 35.5 x 9cm)
