Plushie fans of all ages will love this cute, cuddly and gifty Easter Rabbit toy that is quick and easy to make. Sew-along with me and download the pattern now.
This sweet rabbit toy is a perfect Easter gift: fleece makes him very cuddly, and his little heart gift says: ‘I love you!’ The heart could be embroidered to personalize the bunny, or you can leave the heart off altogether if you prefer.
Fleece is a perfect fabric for toys and is quite forgiving to sew with. It has a little stretch so can easily be shaped when stuffing to give your rabbit a fuller shape.
Use firm interfacing such as Decovil Light in the ears to make them stand up, or they can stay floppy with no interfacing which is just as cute!

By the end of this project, you’ll have:
- Developed your toy-making skills
- Gained some experience sewing with fleece
- Discovered how to bring a plush toy to life with some simple embroidery
Note: use a ¼in (5mm) seam allowance.
Finished size with ears up: 12 x 22 x 4in (30.5 x 55.75 x 10cm)

You will need:
Equipment
- Sewing machine with a standard needle – or use a jersey needle if that works better with your fabric
- Dressmaking shears
- Quick unpick
- Pins
- Fabric glue: I used Gutermann HT2
- Optional: fabric clips – especially useful if your fleece is quite thick
Materials
- 40 x 19in (101.5 x 48.25cm) of fleece fabric – mine is pink
- 15 x 10in (38 x 25.5cm) of cotton fabric for the heart and inner ears – I chose a floral design
- 8 x 6in (20.5 x 15.25cm) of Decovil Light interfacing if you’d like the ears to stand up
- 2 x 2in (5 x 5cm) of black felt for the eyes
- 2 x 2in (5 x 5cm) of dark pink felt for the heart-shaped nose
- Dark pink, white and black embroidery threads for the nose, eyes and mouth
- Toy filler
