Debbie Shore's oilcloth tote bag sewing pattern couldn't be easier to stitch. Made from oilcloth (also known as laminated cotton), this beginner-friendly sewing pattern doesn’t require special skills and can be adapted with home décor-weight fabric to make the sewing process even simpler. Oilcloth is an ideal fabric choice as it doesn’t fray, making it easy to work with, but you may need a non-stick foot or roller foot for your sewing machine to prevent friction. Remember to avoid using pins, as they can leave holes in oilcloth—fabric clips are a much better option for this quick bag project.

- Two 16 x 12in (40 x 30.5cm) pieces of oilcloth, for the bag outer
- Two 16 x 12in (40 x 30.5cm) pieces of lining fabric, for lining the bag outer
- Two 12 x 5in (30.5 x 13cm) pieces of oilcloth, for the end panel
- Two 12 x 5in (30.5 x 13cm) pieces of lining fabric, for lining the end panel
- One 16 x 5in (40 x 13cm) rectangle of oilcloth, for the base
- One 16 x 5in (40 x 13cm) piece of lining fabric, for lining the base
- Two 4 x 16in (10 x 40cm) pieces of oilcloth, for the handles
- Optional: two strong magnetic clasps
