PJ the Mouse is ready for bed! Make him a comfy patchwork sleeping bag.
PJ the Mouse is one of Debbie Shore's best-loved toy patterns, and now it's time to make this character some bedding.
PJ's patchwork sleeping bag is both cosy and inviting, and after a long day he loves to snuggle up inside it and have a snooze! Cotton fabric is used throughout this sewing project. If you have lots of little leftover fabric scraps, they'd be ideal for making the sleeping bag's patchwork top.
Finished size: 12 x 17 x 2in (30 x 43 x 5cm)
Note: Use a ¼in (5mm) seam allowance.

You will need:
Equipment
- Sewing machine
- Iron
- Fabric scissors, or rotary cutter and cutting mat
- Stiff paper, for the templates
- Erasable fabric marker pen
- Ruler
- Tacking/basting spray
- Hand-sewing needle
Materials
Gather:
- 38 x 20in (96.5 x 51cm) of fabric A: I used brown
- 20 x 11in (51 x 28cm) of fabric B: I used spotted
- 9 x 6in (23 x 15cm) of fabric C: I used green
- 30 x 30in (76 x 76cm) of wadding/batting
- Small amount of toy filler
Cut:
- Twenty 3in (7.5cm) squares for the patchwork – seven each of fabrics A and B, and six of fabric C
- One piece of fabric B to line the patchwork, measuring 13 x 11in (33 x 28cm)
- Two pieces of fabric A for the back of the sleeping bag, each measuring 12½ x 17½in (32 x 44.5cm)
