Wonky Street Sewing Machine Dust Cover | Debbie Shore Pattern

Keep your sewing machine dust-free with Debbie Shore's free motion appliquéd cover.

This easy sewing machine cover pattern offers a simple shape that can easily be adapted to fit any size of sewing machine or even to cover an overlocker/serger to match.

Wonky Street is a place where nothing is quite straight, making ideal for fun and easy projects for any level of sewer! The appliqué houses provide a great opportunity to use up smaller pieces of fabric.

First measure your sewing machine along the longest side of the base: mine is 16in (40.5cm); add 2in (5cm). Next drape your tape measure over the machine from front (base of the long side as it faces you) to back (base of the opposite side): mine measures 26in (66cm); add 1in (2.5cm). You will need to cut two rectangles to these measurements for the base fabric. My rectangles are 18 x 27in (45.5 x 68.5cm).

When it comes to the appliqué, I encourage you to personalise the scene as much as you like. You can vary the sizes of the houses, add as many windows as you like and decorate the trees with French knots or beads: no two Wonky Streets will ever be the same!

Finished size of my cover: 17 x 26in (43 x 66cm)

Note: Use a ½in (1.25cm) seam allowance.
