Hello I want to make the transparent pouch for Christmas presents. Could you let me know what machine needle I need to use, I have a Brother machine, I've never sewn vinyl before, many thanks
Mel replied: 18 Sep 25 at 12:58
Tissue paper underneath helps too which should be easy to tear away from any stitching if the vinyl isn’t between fabric I love making things with vinyl pockets, they’re effective

hi members, wondering if you could help me?, i follow debbie shore and once saw an hexie mat she made as a machine mat, it was very cleverly made it looked like it had been binded in all white sides,? think it was a project that may have been taken down, can't find it anywhere hope you lovies can help ? TIA julie
Laura replied: 13 Sep 25 at 17:15
That machine mat was a secondary project as an alternative to the scrappy cushion that Debbie made but I don’t think the project has been brought back ..I am sure that it will be in the future. In the meantime you can get the same look by using the hexagon quilt as you go method ..lots of information on You Tube.

On the cottage pin cusion, the house and roof measurements are given as the same size, is that correct?
barb replied: 13 Sep 25 at 14:39
There is an error in the requirements on the instructions below the video I think There are 2 different measurements shown The requirements as written on the video say 2 pieces 6 x 2.5 whereas on the list shown on the instructions underneath say 6 x 4.5 The 2.5 sounds right. Hope this helps

I’m preparing to do the shirt and thinking ahead at the moment and will need to practice before do on the shirt but using a button whole attachment how do you know where to place to put a button whole in the correct place. I’ve only used on scrap so not tried to position specific placement. Thank you.

Hello all, I am wanting to try to make a quilt as you go quilt with applique hearts, and have a couple of questions. Once I have cut the plain blocks and wadding to the correct size, do I free motion a pattern to secure the layers before applying the applique or after? And secondly, I want to make the applique shapes by turning out before sewing to the block. Is there any recommended washable iron on interfacing that I should use? Any help would be much appreciated, many thanks Kate
Kate replied: 11 Sep 25 at 07:45
Hello Mel Thank you so much for your comprehensive reply. I've not heard of the interfacing you have suggested so will certainly look into it. I am going to look at fabrics for the hearts with my daughter today and am excited to plan it all out and get started. Kind regards Kate
