The instructions are available as a download on debbieshoresewing.com now ?the bag isn?t a Half Yard Sewing Club project.

I hate cutting and sticking bits of paper together. I would love a projector or even an AO version of the templates. Would anyone else like to see these, or am I missing something and they are already available
Sue replied: 20 May 23 at 10:50
A4 is not a worldwide standard - for example they use Letter size in US, but that is irrelevant. The projector/AO file could also be downloaded anywhere in the world and would have zero increase in costs. Posting things out? what would you need to post out. Projector file does not need to be printed, hence environmentally friendlier as no ink/paper etc is used. Why would it need to be reformatted? When the pattern piece is designed, I am sure its not designed as 2 parts on 2 pieces of A4 paper, but as one whole piece that is then "formatted" to fit on A4. To be fair, these patterns are not lots of pieces, so its not really a big problem (unlike some dress patterns that are 40 or 50 A4 pages ! I understand that its not a big issue and not for everyone, but offering a pattern in A4 and AO is fairly common these days.

Thank you everyone who answered my query re quilting rulers. I?m now the happy owner of a superb Olfa 6?x24? ruler. Can?t wait to start using it! Thank you all Judi

I love using mine ?I do find it beneficial to stand up when using it to cut longer lengths of fabric as you can get more pressure on it then to stop it shifting.

Hi, i have recently joined the HYSC and love it ! I have a Janome 2032 machine that i bought some years ago but never used and have just recently started using it. I have thread the machine with no problems but it keeps unthreading at the needle. Its quite frustrating if i'm sewing as i have to keep stopping, re threading and starting again. Does anyone have any ideas what i am doing wrong please?? I am assuming it could be i haven't mastered the tension possibly. If anyone can help i would much appreciate it. Thank you. Justine x

I have a machine that I hadn't used for a couple of years but needed to get out whilst my main one was away for repair. This kept happening to me too so when my machine was returned the engineer looked at it and said as it was sitting so long it probably had seized. He took it away and said a couple of bits had rusted but not badly so he serviced it, cleaned off the rust and re oiled it and now it works fine.

If you go to the relevant project for the HYSC project you have made and scroll down or across depending on your device ..there is then an item/function to upload your picture of the project.

Hi there ???? I have made my first cross body /shoulder bag and love the fabric and the look of it.....however I haven't used bosal on a bag before and even though I've ironed it several times in the making and when finished I just can't get it to look really smooth..any ideas where I've gone wrong ?

It?s a lovely bag and clever pattern matching. Have you tried giving it a good steam with a steam iron to ensure that the adhesive on the Bosal is activated ..take it slowly to ensure that you don?t cause creases in the fabric. A pressing ham is useful in the bag as you iron or a rolled up towel inside to keep the fabric taught as you iron. Hope this helps.

Laura replied: 24 Apr 23 at 18:20
Debbie has added them as a free download on her website as she found out that they have been left out of the kit by the packers. You will find them on debbieshoresewing.com She also said that you could email her at enquiries@debbieshoresewing.com if you wanted to ask for a copy to be sent in the post. Hope this helps.

Good morning everyone, I want to make a waterproof over the shoulder bag using canvas material treated with Odicoat, and also using Bosal foam? So, would it be better to fuse the canvas and foam, and then treat it with the Odicoat, or should I treat the canvas first? Would the treated fabric fuse to the bosal foam, if I steam ironed it from the back of the foam? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
Helen N replied: 27 Apr 23 at 11:33
Thanks Ladies, I really appreciate your responses. I do remember Debbie briefly demonstrating how to apply Odi Coat in one of her videos (can't remember when :( ), and she did mention something recently about doing a demonstration.
