Hi everyone! I'm making the 2020 Block if the month quilt. Block 5 uses English Paper Piecing. Does anyone know if the Clover templates Debbie sells on her website can be used for this? I can't find any measurements for the templates listed there, nor on the Clover website.
Laura replied: 12 May 23 at 19:06
The plastic templates sizes are small triangle internal side 1 1/4? external side 2? , small hexagon internal side 1 1/4? , external side 1 1/2? small diamond internal side 1 1/4? , external side 1 3/4? . Does this help?

I've made this puff quilt top and I meant to quilt it by machine but it's too bulky. I know there's a method where you tie the puffs by hand but I don't want to leave strings of embroidery floss anywhere because my cat (who's already shown a great interest in the quilt so far) might chew off and swallow them. Any ideas how I can quilt all the layers together by hand that is kitty friendly? Thanks xx
Amanda replied: 12 May 23 at 19:44
Thank you, Laura. I've googled old fashioned hand quilting techniques and I think I'll give the good old running stitch a try. If not, I'll try your buttons (even though that's a lot of buttons!)

Not a question but just to say that I have today made one of the May blocks of the quilt I was worried about the curves but going slowly and following the instructions it has turned out beautifully, so now am a bit more confident on doing the other one, am really enjoying making this
Laura replied: 9 May 23 at 20:16
This is the video that Debbie did for us for last years quilt, which explains some of the technique for the May block of this years quilt ..thought that anybody who had not seen it may find it useful ?the tip starts at about 15 minutes in to the video if you want to fast forward https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6uGV-iEIg7I Hope this helps a bit.
