Hey, I'm new here! Trying g to watch the video for the lovely satchel but it keeps stopping and starting. Is there anything I can do? Thanks, Sara ????
Sara replied: 9 Jun 23 at 20:13
It is working fine on my phone - I was trying to watch it on the tablet. Still doesn't work after a 'device maintenance' and a reboot. Never mind, I'll have to squint! ???? Thank you for your help ????

Hello all. I remember Debbie doing a dog walking bag with zips and compartments for items. Can anyone point me in the direction of it please?
Sue replied: 6 Jun 23 at 09:39
Yes Laura that?s the one, thank you. HYSC- it is smaller and more compact than the one you suggested but thank you too.

Hi all. I would like to make a picnic blanket from Debbie?s YouTube video, and wondered if the waterproof canvas she has on DebbieShoreSewing would make a good backing. Any thoughts? Or other suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Debbie replied: 13 Jun 23 at 07:36
That's a good fabric to use, it's easy to wipe clean and although it doesn't feel waxy it is actually waterproof!

Why are the photos on submit your projects coming up twice. I posted the craft bag yesterday and thought I did something wrong but just posted the BOTM and same thing. I don?t want to take up space for others to post!

I'm planning a charity event for Christmas and I could use some ideas for simple and easy Christmas crafts for children that do not require sewing machine or previous experience. For all ages, including teenagers :) Thanks xx

Had a free weekend and took on the craft bag. A lot of instructions but very doable! Enjoyed it and giving it to a knitter to use.
Sue replied: 6 Jun 23 at 08:12
This is a lovely job, so neat. I?m sure the knitter will be delighted.

I?ve made a messenger bag for my grandson who is 8 today. I had to enlarge the pattern slightly to fit the present (a transformer) and it is the wrapping for the present too . I hope he will find it useful for carrying toys around
Elizabeth replied: 6 Jun 23 at 11:23
I love the fabric. He will love it.

Hi I read somewhere you can use carbon paper to trace patterns onto fabric, is this true? And does it need to be a special carbon paper or would the stuff from the stationers do? Don't want it to set permanently on the fabric!
Laura replied: 31 May 23 at 09:32
I use a sewing quality carbon paper to mark darts etc on fabric ?I think it is less messy than stationery quality. To save paper patterns I will make a copy with tracing paper cut that out and use that as my paper piece ?I did this with the Maddie book as the pattern pieces are double sided so you can?t use the originals without spoiling the patterns on the reverse side.

Hi I'm new to the club, I dragged my 1970s Singer machine out of the cupboard a couple months back, and my partner bought me the Maddie book to be supportive - feels like a big step up ???????? First question of what I'm sure will be loads - how much fabric is this? I can't see if it's a meter or a half yard or?? https://www.debbieshoresewing.com/shop/fabric/all-fabric/tilda-doll-fabric-sand/ Sorry, never bought fabric online before! ????
