Hi all probably a silly question but to make the maddie doll did you trace the pattern first to use or did you stick on card to make it easier Thank you for your help

Has anyone tried to make the pyjama top from the Sew Maddie book. Point 8 8s not making any sense to me????My top looks like the photo, but I don't know which bits l am supposed to sew.

Thank you Laura. I did work it out eventually - but it took much longer than it needed to! I was sewing to the middle of the collar, which meant there wasn't a nice pointy bit. All sorted now. Thank you again.

Please could anyone tell me if they have had the problem of when lining a bag with a zip gusset at the top of the bag the lining sags down at the top and did they manage to find an answer.
Laura replied: 30 Mar 23 at 14:42
Debbie did a video of putting a zip in a tote bag?not sure if this helps at all. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GibVEnAtntE She explains at the end about making the zipped inner the same shape as the base to avoid the lining pulling. Hope it helps.

Anybody know what I can use as an erasable marker on black fabric? Chalk is fine but I can't get a nice thin line with it. Thankyou
Janis replied: 24 Mar 23 at 07:52
You can buy chalk wheels which has powdered chalk inside them and that gives a fine line. Janis

What is a stay stitch, I am a novice at making clothes, never seen this on a pattern. Thank you in advance for a reply.
Laura replied: 20 Mar 23 at 09:02
It is a short stitch inside your seam line to stop your fabric from distorting or stretching on curves of the garment. I have attached a short video which explains. Hope this helps https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MtrZm6WZC88

I'd like a second opinion. The fabric on the left is for the outside of the Easter basket and the fabric on the right is for the inside. Unfortunately, the pieces of the outer fabric that I have are too small for the handle. Would it look good to switch them and use the gingham for the outside and the handle, or should I wait until I can buy more of the floral fabric and use it for the outside and the handle? Thanks.

Hi, Can you sew piping and an invisible zip on a cushion cover? If so would the zip be at the bottom or back of the cushion? Thanks
