Hello, can I use the very thin fusible batting on the bag Miss Debbie made this morning with the gold pearl handle and this afternoon with the straps? Other wise I only have a thin pellon that is used to face tops and dresses. Thank you.
Debbie replied: 18 Aug 21 at 11:58
That will be fine, you could always use a couple of layers if you want it a bit thicker...

Hi all When putting a zip in an infants waist type gathered dress where the lined bodice is achieved by pulling through the shoulders is it possible to put in an invisible zip and if so at what stage would it be inserted, is it inserted over the lining. Sorry if I'm making hard work of this. Thank you for any help. x
Debbie replied: 18 Aug 21 at 12:03
Is this explained in the pattern? Difficul;t to answer withour seeing it, but the zip shouold go in between the outer and lining fabrics, may ne easier to fit to the outer fabric then hand sew it to the lining...

Hi all. I'm moving house very soon and I will be lucky enough to have a sewing room. I currently don't have a sewing table and wonder what type/size/height of table I should buy. I also need a task light of some sort I think. Recommendations would be welcomed from your please. Thank you
Debbie replied: 18 Aug 21 at 12:02
I just sit at a dining table, but on an adjustable stool, sit so that your elbows are at right angles to your machine. I also use a daylight light from Native lighting, hope that helps!

Having trouble with the pet bed. First of all, is there a bottom other than the actual cushion with the zip? Second, I can't wrap my head around the measurements. I'm using a 45 cm inner pillow. Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi could anyone help please. I was going to make the Debbie shore relaxation set as a Christmas gift for my sister but it has gone from here now. I thought I might be able to find on the HYSC Facebook page but I can only find the introduction video and not how to make. Is it in one of the books I could buy please or have I missed my chance? Thank you

Hi everyone, really hoping someone can help, I am trying to make the kimono jacket but the neck band is a couple of inches short, I have check and rechecked my measurements and they are right so I can?t understand what I have done wrong because in the video Debbie said that the neck pieces should be too long. Any suggestions?
Julie replied: 6 Aug 21 at 09:10
I have cut longer pieces and am hoping it still looks as good but I honestly can?t work out where I went wrong, it?s the smaller size too so if anything I should have even more excess. Will post pics when it?s finished

Hi everyone, I want to make the simple box top but I?m not sure which stitch symbol on my machine is for zig zag stitch. Unfortunately when I got it there was nothing in the instructions about what the stitches are so I?m unsure which one I should use. I think it might be either 4 or 5 but I?m not sure. My machine is not computerised but I do have the option to adjust the length of my stitches. I wish my machine told me what all the stitches were as I?ve not got a clue, maybe Debbie could do a chart showing what the symbols are for use novices? Thank in advance.

Thanks for that Barb, I was getting rather confused with which stitch to use. I shall give those a try.

hi everybody I have an usual question, please could you help me I have some Lycra (I think, but it is stretchy) fabric floral design, but I'm not sure how to deal with it 1 do I need a special needle? 2 is there anything I need to start with it? 3 can I use pins in it than you Helene
Debbie replied: 3 Aug 21 at 14:51
Hi Helene, use a stretch needle for lycra, you can use pins, and a wal;king foot will help to prevent stretching when you sew. Be careful not to stretch the fabric or you'll have frilly seams! A polyester thread is preferable too.
