Hi everyone, so I have these metallic threads and I was hoping to try them out. I have the Metallic needles but I was wondering about bobbins. Do you use this on the under thread as well as the top thread or use a normal thread for the bobbin and metallic for the top? Thank you

When dressmaking for a size 18 would you choose large or small flower fabric? Many thanks Chris
Debbie replied: 1 Aug 21 at 07:48
I'd go for small, more flattering and you won't have to worry about pattern matching!

I?m making the backpack Debbie made with the top hat fabric. It didn?t dawn on me until I got too far to not finish it! I?m making it for a 2 1/2 year old for Christmas but he is probably not going to be able to tie it. Any suggestions on how to finish off the sides on the top? Are they too wide to just leave them open? Dang, I really like the gather on it. Help?

How thick is the piping cord used in covered piping on the everyday bag? I want to make my own as I can't get quite the colour I need. I'm guessing 3mm.
Debbie replied: 1 Aug 21 at 07:51
3mm is a nice width for a bag I think, it makes a subtle trim, if it's too thick it could look a bit clumsy...

-
Thanks Megan. The site looks very posh. Mx
Shirley replied: 27 Jul 21 at 19:21
I have also done a new account. But the website shows as insecure? Also when I look at items it?s showing wrong colours against them. Think they may just be having a few teething problems.

Do I have to re-register for Debbie's super new website? It's not recognising mine. Mary x
