Advent calendar question. Is there any way to avoid raw edges at the bottom of the houses from the calendar on page 26? It's a gift and I would really like it to be neat.

Thank you Barb, it really helped! I tried both methods you suggested and found that zigzagging worked best for me. I finished the calendar yesterday and am very happy with the result.

Please can someone point me in the right direction to find instructions for a hot water bottle cover that I have convinced myself Debbie made from some "glow in the dark" fleece?
BW replied: 9 Sep 21 at 13:39
I remember that, I think it may have been done on a Wednesday live on the old website and before Debbie started doing the lives on Facebook and YouTube. I think the video might be gone for good unless Debbie still has it saved somewhere, I think it was in January 2021 sometime

Hi do you think I would need to use any fleece/wadding on the back of the quilted cork (off Debbie's website) for cork clutch bag? Thank you.
Celia replied: 24 Aug 21 at 14:07
Possibly a bit if wadding but it depends how stiff you want it to be. I have just used some heavier interfacing on cork and wish that I hadn't. Have you got an assortment of scraps and weights you could experiment with?

Hi everyone, I'm making the glasses case from the Half Yard website. Am I right in thinking that the binding is tweaked in the curve and the buttons conceal this? Thank you.

Hello, I am making the patchwork picnic mat in Debbie's book "Sew Outdoor Living" and it says to secure oilcloth to fabric with adhesive. Can anyone tell me what adhesive to use as I normally use 505 but that is only a temporary glue. I assume it will rquire washing sometimes so it will need to be something that withstands that. Any help please. Thank you.
Debbie replied: 28 Aug 21 at 10:25
I used 505, it's just to secure the fabrics whilst sewing, the mat is quilted so that will hold the layers together...

Pet bed issue. The sides of the bed are smaller than the patterned piece. Is this how it's supposed to be or should I trim down the patterned piece? The denim sides are 45 cm long which is the size of my pillow. The center piece is 47x47 cm.
Amanda replied: 29 Aug 21 at 17:13
Hi Debbie! It definitely helped, thank you!

I am making a pair of bedroom curtains from a quilt cover, as they don?t have matching curtains in the bedding range. Obviously, by doing this, I don?t have a selvedge on the fabric and my biggest challenge is cutting the fabric so that it is oblong. I have a hard floor to cut out on, which is large enough, but what technique would you use to make sure that my fabric is cut square and even please and that both curtains come out exactly the same size.
Debbie replied: 20 Aug 21 at 06:18
Do you have floorboards or tiles that are square that you could use as a guide?
