Hi I?m about to have a go at the Tie Pocket Back Pack from the Build a Bag?- Back Packs book. However, I?ve realised I don?t have enough foam. Would it work if I used foam for the back and base but used stiff interfacing for the front instead ( hopefully keeping shape but having more flexible front)? I?m new to sewing and have never used foam before so any tips gratefully received. thanks

Hi Diane, thanks for that, funnily enough I don't have any string either! (Am I actually a proper sewer!!) I've never done piping before and wanted to avoid it for this bag but I shall try it with the next one I make. Stay safe.

Does anyone have a pattern to make a facemask? It would be useful to make one or two out of a linen fabric. I will have hay fever soon and it would be nice to wear one on my daily exercise outing with the dog so that I don't frighten people with my cough or sneeze during this coronavirus situation. ?

Hi Jean i was happy to help and it was nice to hear that they are working out for you, happy sewing and please stay safe.

Hi Kate, if you print out actual size the size of the pattern is correct, the measurements need amending, I'm not sure where some of them came from! Apologies for the confusion!

Hello it's Trina again. I have now sorted the backpack pattern out. The outer pocket is the back.

Trina replied: 2 Apr 20 at 16:09
Not really, I'm used to seeing patterns stating 'back' Or 'front' not outer pocket. I'll get used to Your way. Although it may take some time. Aged person. That's my excuse.

Hello Where is the pattern piece for the back of the back pack? Trina ?
Trina replied: 30 Mar 20 at 20:48
Hello Yes I think the outer pocket is the back. I just need to get around Debbie's way of thinking. Thank you Trina
