No pressure 🤣🤣🤣
Laura replied: 10 Jun 25 at 15:30
Indeed 🤣. Just a little heads up that you can reply to your own and other peoples messages by opening up the message, writing a reply and submitting it. This just stops a long string of messages on one subject. Hope this helps 😊

Hello everyone, this is my first post after joining your wonderful sewing club a few months ago. I would like to join Debbie’s HYSC for an additional 2 years, however when I use the link that Sewing Street e mailed this morning it says the offer is unavailable. Has this now been discontinued. Many thanks
Laura replied: 10 Jun 25 at 08:24
Hi Diane …..welcome to the members forum. The email with the code should come from Half Yard Sewing Club (Claire) rather than Sewing Street so check whether you have received this as it may have gone into your spam box. If you haven’t received it after a few days from ordering the subscription from Sewing Street it may be worth emailing the HYSC admin team on info@halfyardsewingclub.com so that they can check details and next actions for you.

Can someone tell me where I can find the measurement for the sizing of the shift dresss ?
RocknSew replied: 14 Jun 25 at 16:25
Sorry to piggy back on your question, but I am a bit confused. Is there anywhere on the pattern or instructions that says what size a 16 is? Ie size 16 equates to 38 inch bust? Or is there a generic place that tells you what each size is. When I used other bought patterns, it show on the pattern what the sizes are. I cannot see this on the pattern. Many thanks.

On the shift dress can you cut the back piece on the fold also or do you have to cut it in two pieces?
Adele replied: 9 Jun 25 at 12:34
I have not done yet but it looks like the back has a slight shape so I would say no

Hello sewing friends I have just cut out the fluted hem skirt but have found that the Back waist is a lot bigger than the front. Is that how it should be.
Sam replied: 8 Jun 25 at 17:08
Yes it's for the elastic.

Over 60 years ago, whenever we had a holiday in Wales my Mom and I would buy the double weave Welsh material for winter skirts. Since then it’s been used for many things, cushions chair seats and more. It’s still going strong. I’m thinking of making bags with it but in unsure what interfacing to use. Any ideas? To buy it now by the metre is very very expensive.

It’s lovely and will make some beautiful bags. I think that you could use any of the fleece or foam interfaces available depending on the pattern that you choose but I would definitely add a non woven interface like H200 or a woven G700 interfacing to the wrong side of the doubleweave fabric before applying your chosen foam/fleece to stop any stretching or movement once the bag is completed. Use a cloth or Teflon sheet when applying the interfaces on the wrong side of your fabric. I certainly wouldn’t place a hot iron directly on your lovely fabric. Can’t wait to see your photos.

Laura replied: 6 Jun 25 at 09:30
Debbie has just added a free download for a made to measure tablecloth on her website so that might be a good place to start 😊 https://www.debbieshoresewing.com/shop/brands/debbie-shore/made-to-measure-mitred-border-tablecloth-free-sewing-project-download/
