Morning, have started on the block of the month seaside quilt and am struggling with the seminole patchwork - is there a video of how to do this? I’ve sewn the strips together, cut them up and sewn them at a 45 degree angle, but not sure what to do next. It says I need to cut the strip and join the two pieces together - I’m slightly confused and would love some help on this one, please. Thanks in advance Mim x

This block caused issues for a lot of members at the time and they raised questions at about page 45 on this forum …it takes a while to go back as you have to go back a few pages at a time (ask me how I know 😊😊). At the time Barb answered one of the questions by referring to a previous quilt project that had a similar block ..her response was “ If you look at the 2021 BOTM this may help explain the technique. It’s all about lining up straight . examples below. One with a video. Hope this helps https://www.halfyardsewingclub.com/projects/block-of-the-month-2021-block-8-dominoes https://www.halfyardsewingclub.com/uploads/projects/HYSC-BOTM-2021-Feb-Instruc-Opt.pdf “ It is also worth having a look at the members pictures on the project page for the waves block as this will give you an idea of the look of the finished block. Come back and ask again if this response doesn’t help 😊

I've made the flounced skirt and love it, but being only 5'2", found I had to chop a lot of the back of the fluted piece. Can anyone suggest at what point I should shorten the main part of the skirt on the pattern pls?

Hi Im new to quilting. I have pieced together a jelly roll so now have the fabric ready for quilting. I’m unsure that free motion embroidery is the the way to go as I like the strip look and the softness. Could I just ‘stitch in a ditch’ it ? Is that enough to hold it all in place?
Mel replied: 24 May 25 at 12:33
Thank you Mel and Brenda. I’ll go for it x

Have you enough seam allowance to add a finished 3” border of a similar fabric to the panel before you start smocking ?

Hello, where can I find the pattern for the Birthday Bear ?

The initial project for birthday bear with the templates etc. was taken down a while ago after 2 returns …no doubt he will be back again now that all projects are slowly returning 😊
