I need ideas! A friend and I are throwing a summer party and we're having a quiz where the winner gets a prize. I'll be making one of the prizes. The competitors will be both men and women age 50+. What can I make that anyone of these lovely people would appreciate? I'd like to do something that's not too basic but a little bit special but that doesn't require a ton of purchases in materials. I've plenty of fabric, wadding/batting and some interfacing.

A bottle bag is a good idea! Thanks!

Hi how do you watch the videos please
Laura replied: 10 May 25 at 14:06
You need to be signed in to the website to see the videos on Half Yard Sewing Club. The videos are on main projects and are usually under the project heading. If the project that you are thinking of making has a video just push the forward arrow on the screen to play ..you can stop, rewind and fast forward using the arrows on the screen. Hope this helps.

Morning! Just wondered if there are any new sewing techniques you'd like to see in the club?
Polkadot replied: 1 Jun 25 at 22:02
Machine quilting effectively without free motion. Machine sewing applique in detail, mine isn't consistent. Invisible zips as well, in fact any zip! Thank you.

Ready, set, sew – this offer ends in 48 hours! ✂️🕒 Join us today for just £36 and discover: Thank you for your reply, but would like you to read the above which I copied from the email. It definetly implies that you CAN buy a membership at the offer price if you have an existing membership. How else can you be registered if you are not a member?
HYSC replied: 7 May 25 at 09:10
Thanks Barb, that is correct - this email was set to registered only and cancelled accounts, so those with multiple email addresses on the system are more likely to have received it as well. We will look into this though with the web developers. If you do have multiple email addresses on the system and would like the other account removed please email us on info@halfyardsewingclub.com

I've received an email offering existing members a saving of £24 on membership but I can't see how to purchase this. My membership expires in June so I would like to buy a new membership now to start from June. Please explain how I do this?
HYSC replied: 6 May 25 at 10:50
Hi There is a flash offer available as a recruitment tool for non members but this is only available on new subscriptions set up in that time frame. Best wishes Team HYSC

It says if you are registered simply go to log in this is one of the emails I received
Valerie replied: 5 May 25 at 19:15
Have just seen this MAYDAY code cannot be applied to current existing annual or monthly memberships. This was right at the bottom of the page. So going to cancel my subscription, do think this should have shown that it was for new members only at the beginning.

Has anyone found out how to renew membership with discount code?
Valerie replied: 5 May 25 at 19:09
I tried to do the offer as pay monthly, but there was nowhere to put in the code and it has taken the original amount instead of £36, have e-mailed Half Yard Sewing Club. It says on the e-mail 🧵 Already registered? Simply log in and when prompted for payment details, enter code MAYDAY to save £24 on your annual membership.

Will the bag patterns be removed from the website after the week finishes
Laura replied: 4 May 25 at 09:16
Most of the bag patterns are already on the website but have been refreshed with a new look for bag week 😊. The policy is not to take projects down now so I think they will remain for you to access for as long as we are members. Very spoilt this week with two brand new bags 🤩
