I watch the HYC monthly makes with Debbie and would love it if she could make one of the secondary monthly makes as they don't have a video or one of the block of the months which don't have a video. Also these projects are exclusive to HYC members.

Good idea Dee, I have done these before in the past, but am mindful that we only have an hour so kept it to shorter projects, I'll see what I can do!

Hi Does anyone know when the new garden party fabric panels etc, that were featured on sewing street this morning, will be released onto Debbie Shore Sewing.com. I can’t find them on the sewing street website.

Thank you Laura found them with your link x

Gingham fabric book cover I’ve just made the above and in the video Debbie mentions about the lining being longer to allow for the contrasting strip around the top. The measurements given for the lining are the same as the outer fabric. I had already cut mine out and it did come up too short to allow for a contrast strip around the top so I think the measurements need to be amended. Hope this is clear enough for you to understand.
Pauline replied: 24 Apr 25 at 14:38
Laura I have now made it with the lining longer and have found that you need to increase the length of the elastic to 6” otherwise it pulls to tight over the top. Maybe you could amend this as well for anyone making it in the future?

I really enjoyed making the tulips and I'm looking for more fabric flowers that I can make into posies. I'm not finding a lot online, most flowers are too big to put on stems. If anyone has a pattern that I can make into more flowers, please link them here! Thanks!

Ooh, I've actually made that one but totally forgot. Thanks Laura!

if you go where the template is next to template button should be an instruction button that will give measurements.

Is anyone else struggling with the sizing of the wide leg trousers ( it could just be me as a novice dressmaker 😁). I've now made them up in the smallest size but they are still far too big. I'm 5'4" and a regular size 12. Any advice would be appreciated.
Sue replied: 21 Apr 25 at 16:27
Hi Rita, thanks for all the great information. I also commented on your Facebook post and you replied to me with the details for the alterations you made. I've spent the day playing with the pattern and I think I'm getting there and will have a pair of wearable trousers hopefully very soon.

How can i get the Birthday Bear template and instructions please?
Laura replied: 19 Apr 25 at 13:50
Birthday Bear not on here at the moment as was taken down as part of the original policy to remove projects after a certain time. I am sure the project will return soon as old projects are being returned slowly and will remain for you to access as long as you are a member.

Does everyone find when watching HYSC video instructions that their screen frequently goes dark while watching? I don’t usually have this issue on other sites and I’m wondering if it’s because I’m watching on an iPad and whether I need to alter my settings. Many thanks x

I find the same thing on my phone when I watch the videos. Hope someone can suggest a quick fix!

Step 9 of fluted hem skirt make…..where does second piece of front waistband come from as I have only one cut on fold? Very confused….😵💫
HYSC replied: 15 Apr 25 at 16:31
Apologies Tina! This is, of course, meant to read 'cut two' on the front waistband piece. We shall update the patterns imminently. Thank you for flagging. Very best wishes, team HYSC x
