Hope someone will be able to help. I have taken up sewing after 20 years. I bought a adjustable dressmakers dummy from Amazon in size 10-16. I am a 12-14. I dialed it to the maximum and it is too small. The bust was okay but waist and hips are too small. Any ideas would be appreciated please. Thank you in advance xx
Laura replied: 15 Mar 25 at 09:19
Just a thought and I am sure you have but have you pulled out all the connectors around the body at the back and to the sides. Hard to know without seeing the dummy but thought it worth mentioning it in case 😊

I’m making the bunny and I’ve put interfacing on the ears but they still not standing up. Any suggestions? Thanks
Sally replied: 15 Mar 25 at 04:44
Thanks Laura: yes I did use the interfacing I doubled it and also put pipe cleaners in. I think I will put a couple of stitches at the bottom of the ears to hold them up. They are cute. I’ve got 4 made. Thank you for the advice.

Can you tell me the best type of fabric to use to make Debbie's Easter dress please.
LucyJ replied: 24 Mar 25 at 11:11
Hi Lorraine, any lightweight wovens would work for this dress - the original project was made with dressmaking cotton.

Hi Everyone, I am hoping to make the Easter Bunny for my Granddaughter. Would the toy stuffing on Debbie Shore Sewing 450g be enough to stuff the bunny. Or do I need to buy 2 bags of toy stuffing. Thank you
Jenny replied: 15 Mar 25 at 18:48
To be honest, I used a the polyester stuffing from an old unused pillow that I had. More than enough for bunny.

Hello Lucy. Of the HYSC projects I have made so far, I think my favourite is the Sewing Room Accessories Storage Folder. It is really useful and is in use almost every day. I enjoyed making it too.

Help! I am trying to make the fluted hem skirt and have got to the front waistband. So I have cut one strip on the fold (size 18) as per pattern but in video Debbie sews two pieces together for the “front “ waist band.?
DEE replied: 17 Mar 25 at 06:13
Cut 2 on the fold, I used a lightweight interfacing on both to give it more stability.

Can I use fabric instead of fleece for the Bunny?
Laura replied: 11 Mar 25 at 13:51
I don’t see why not but it will not be so easy to sew as sewing fleece is quite forgiving and stitches get lost in the pile.

Can anyone tell me which email address to use for the testimonials?

Hi there, if you can send them to debbie@halfyardsewingclub.com that would be brilliant! :) Best wishes, team HYSC x

Morning members! Will you be making Debbie's new bunny project? Comment below! 🐰
Judy replied: 14 Mar 25 at 15:28
1bag of toy stuffing is fine. I used h640 for the ears. They flop about on movement but stand up well when positioned. If you see what I mean.
