Laura replied: 5 Mar 25 at 09:08
Debbie demonstrated her quilting templates on sewing Street and had a round blue sample ..maybe it was that. https://www.sewingstreet.com/en-gb/programme-guide/details/?from=2025-02-27T08:00:00&to=2025-02-27T09:00:00&channelID=118

Why does it say 4pm on HYSC on the 1st March? It supposed to be 11am.
Laura replied: 28 Feb 25 at 21:19
This was the message that Debbie put on her Facebook page …. “So after the confusion with timing on my live stream yesterday, these are the timings that HY have, so I will be live on the website at 4pm Saturday. I’ll do a quick live stream on my FB and YT pages at 11am to make up for it!”

Hi, I’m doing the Burley bag but have a couple of questions and hoping you can help. The measurements for the base of the bag say12.5 x 9inch, this seems wrong as the width of the base seems too big! Also do you put interfacing on all outer pieces including the sides as it doesn’t say. Thanks in anticipation Pat

So sorry, that'd a typo, it dhould be 4" not 9"...

Help please for a relatively novice, complete novice in the baby department. What cloth do you recommend for burp cloths? thank you
Laura replied: 28 Feb 25 at 10:41
I would use something like a double gauze fabric ..it is light but absorbent x Muslin and flannel or a light towelling would also work 😊

Hello, I’ve bought the download for the stationary folder unfortunately I don’t understand some of the instructions, is there a video so that I can see how it is made? I’ve tried to ask but not getting any answer!
barb replied: 27 Feb 25 at 16:38
It is not anything related to this site. Have you emailed debbie shore sewing?

I thought it was going to be the rabbit plush toy on Saturday and not the chicks
Laura replied: 27 Feb 25 at 16:11
The rabbit is the main project for March and the chick is just a quick make for the HYSC sew along at 4pm on Saturday.

Hello, just for your information. If you are making the Quilt from Debbie’s book and printing off downloads for the quilt, remember to set your printer to 100% , my printer defaults to 92%, I had to reset it. There are also a few printing errors in the book but if you go to www.bookmarkedhub you will see a section to click on where they explain mistakes and put them right. I hope this is helpful to anyone making it. I have started it and really enjoying doing it.
Sherry replied: 26 Feb 25 at 18:03
Thank you Blodwen that’s very helpful indeed. I have gone through the book noting up the errors, but I’m at a loss as to what to do with the small heart template on page 171 which has just been circled. It looks too big? Maybe if and when I have a go at the block for week 26 ‘Small Flower 4’ it’ll become obvious. It’s a shame the book wasn’t properly proof read before being published - I’ve made a right mess of my book now. Anyway, thanks again Blodwen x

Re: batwing dress. Struggling to lay out the pattern pieces on my fabric prior to cutting out. I have successfully stuck the pieces together and roughly separated the pieces. I am doing size 14 and trying to place the pieces on the lengthwise grain, but the fold line is not long enough to place each piece on the fold. How do I solve this please? Do I need to use the crosswise grain instead? Or do I need to re-fold the fabric between cuts? Thank you!
TINA replied: 9 Mar 25 at 02:51
Hi Viv I have made three batwing dresses. I am a size 12/14. Up to this size you fold your fabric lengthways into the the middle which will create two folding areas either side on which to lay your pattern pieces. Debbie explains that beyond this size you will require more fabric to allow for a different layout using the one longer fold whereby you would lay your pattern pieces one above the other. I hope this makes sense and helps with your query.
