Hi I am a new member, I just want to know how I get into the live Debbie sessions please, I know there is one today at 1pm ?
Laura replied: 30 Oct 25 at 09:37
The live today is on Sewing Street Facebook page at 1pm when she will talk about the HYSC subscription offer they are running. Debbie also does lives on her Facebook and You Tube channels on Saturdays at 11am and Wednesdays at 4pm if she is available. She does a HYSC live usually on the last Saturday of the month at 4pm ..you will need to log in to this site as a member to join in with that one. Hope this helps

Is it best to use Bosal or Decovil to make storage large storage boxes? The boxes will contain spare bedding. Thank you Laraine
Laura replied: 30 Oct 25 at 10:19
I think it is preference really …Bosal will give a softer box as it has a foam structure and Decovil is a thinner leathery/cardboard type finish. It is worth having a look at Debbie’s makes by putting storage in the search box and this will give you some alternatives. If you want something that covers your bedding from dust etc I might consider making storage bags with zips and then you could use something like H640 or Debbie’s craft fleece as these would protect the contents but with less structure. Hope this helps a bit.

Has Debbie ever done any video’s for making a lined Christmas stocking that doesn’t need bias binding please.
Julia replied: 28 Oct 25 at 15:23
Thank you Laura , That is great. I couldn’t find that this morning - not tech savvy at all sadly. I get so confused about which side goes where and turning inside out etc. Thank you very much again xxxx

My Chumley Reindeer has no ears! They are not included in the pattern - eek! He can't hear Santa's directions. Seriously, is there a correction available? He is all cut out and ready to be put together, apart from the missing appendages!
Laura replied: 28 Oct 25 at 08:47
Oh no …You are probably better to email enquiries@debbieshoresewing.com for a speedy reply as the Chumley Reindeer is not a HYSC project.

Thanks Laura. I’ve finally worked out access to the magazine.

Laura answered my original question. She said to go to the head of the blog and it gives you instructions there. To access blog go to bottom of page.

Has anyone made the sewing machine cover . do you know if it will fit the butterick sewing machine that Debbie helped design?it is alot bigger than a normal sewing machine.
Laura replied: 27 Oct 25 at 09:13
Debbie normally tells you how to measure your machine and how to make the cover to fit your machine in the instructions so it may be worth checking out the individual project to ensure that your cover will fit.

Hello, I'm not good at technology, missing so much, can you please tell me how I get onto fabric Web page, also can't seem to get the magazine open to read. Thank you
barb replied: 26 Oct 25 at 08:50
Open the magazine under blog on this site. You may need to click on it to see arrows to right and left to turn the pages. There is nothing for sale on this site. Debbieshoresewing.com is a separate business where you can order materials etc . Hope this helps,

You can also share your makes in here if you would like!

I find it very difficult to find projects. I have to sign in more than once to access the patterns and downloading magazines is impossible. Constantly signing in is annoying as, by the time you’ve obtained access you’re already worn out.
Laura replied: 27 Oct 25 at 09:23
It is a shame that you are finding the site difficult to use..I don’t really have the same problem accessing the patterns and the screen will stay available if I am working on the project. If this problem persists it might be worth emailing the admin team to see if they have any ideas on why this is happening for you. The magazine is digital so if you go to the blog heading there is a whole article to read about how to view the magazine and tips on reading and turning the pages so it’s worth giving that a read before trying to access the magazine. I hope that this has helped and that you start to have a better user experience ..there is always someone to help on specific issues on the forum and if you do want to raise any issues with usage issues email the admin team at info@halfyardsewingclub.com
