I have just used Cork for the first time on a bag. If you have any worries about using it, don?t worry, it?s so easy to sew with. I have loved using it and will do it again.

That?s fabulous! I love sewing with cork, it?s so nice to work with and looks great for the base of bags. Love yours Blodwen.

Can anyone suggest an easy beginners sewing project to try first
Julia replied: 21 May 24 at 14:10
Hi Tracey, I am a beginner too. I have enjoyed making the mats - to stand sewing machine, food mixers on etc. Makes the machimes easier to move about and are quick to see a finished result - plus they are great for practising to sew in a straight line which I struggle with no end. Good luck and happy sewing. Xxxx

Oh no just realised I ve sewn my clams together the wrong way round my straight edge will be on the right not left. Will it matter? Making two quilts and done it wrong on both sets of clams.
Laura replied: 15 May 24 at 09:34
The rounded edge of the finished strip (the sand dunes) will go along the top of your strip and be placed from one side of your quilt to the other so I think you will be fine. As long as you have a straight edge to sew to the waves strip that we completed earlier. The quilts don?t all have to look identical and nobody else will notice the little errors we are all bound to make in the learning process.

Hi, I joined up,but not sure what I am doing. Should I get notifications on projects and tutorials! As I work how do I need to check in?
barb replied: 14 May 24 at 12:54
The projects are all listed under ' sewing projects' and are available at any time. A new one is added on 1st of each month and that one has a video with it. There is also another project added mid month.....maybe tomorrow. This one does not have a video with it but full instructions and a pattern if needed. You can sign up for a newsletter via your account and that will tell you about the new projects each month and what is being removed. But you don't need the newsletter to get access to everything on the site. Just look at any time and the new ones are towards the top.

Hi, Does anyone know where I can find the download for the curved tote bag Debbie recently made from a tapestry fabric please? I think I watched it on Youtube but Debbie said you could download the pattern on our website. Joyce
Joyce replied: 14 May 24 at 12:49
Hi Barb, Thank you, that's the one. I was looking on the Half Yard Club site. Joyce

Finished my sling bag of which I am very proud but, sorry about this sounding silly, how does one wear them?
Laura replied: 16 May 24 at 10:47
The description says ?The strap can be attached to either of two rings, one on each side of the back at the bottom, meaning that the bag can be worn over either shoulder ?. I hope this helps you decide how to wear your bag.
