Continuous Zips. When using a zip in a letter box opening do I need to add an end stop or will sewing around the box do the same job please? Also, for pockets such as that used in May?s project again a letter box zip is a plastic zip ok please ?

You will be fine ..don?t use your best fabric scissors for cutting zips though.

Hi, would half a metre of fabric be sufficient to make a Sling Bag ?
Laura replied: 2 May 24 at 10:02
You will need half metre of the outer and lining fabrics as per the material list. The list says 19 x 44in (48 x 112cm) of outer fabric and 19 x 44in (48 x 112cm) of lining fabric and that is very close to half metre so I would lay out all of my pattern pieces to fit before cutting any fabric.

New here and not experienced. I see the skill level and then stars. Are the stars indicating how easy or difficult the project is, or is it some type of review?
Caro replied: 28 Apr 24 at 01:40
You are correct - they represent the level of difficulty.

Hi. Does anyone know if the grain line matter when bag making or is that just important for dress making? Thanks.
Sharon replied: 28 Apr 24 at 19:01
Thanks Laura. Very helpful. I watched the sew-a-long yesterday and saw Debbie turning the fabric this way and that so that she could make the best use of her fabric and it made me think.
