Hi there, Quick question....when using the tapestry fabric do I need to ..a) use fusable fleece and b) can it be quilted eg the crochet square tapestry Thanks x
Laura replied: 11 May 24 at 18:21
It doesn?t need to be fusible fleece ..you could use sew in, perhaps use a 505 spray to adhere the fabric to the fleece. Debbie made a bag last week on a live with the bag themed tapestry and she said that you could quilt it, I think I would lengthen the stitch to ensure that it did not pull the fabric. Have fun using it.

still struggling to get on to download projects, my account only says personal details etc and membership? It must be me !! there's nothing else on the page.
barb replied: 9 May 24 at 14:55
Mentioning membership sounds like you are looking on this site. Your downloads are not here. They will be on debbieshoresewing.com . Sign into debbieshoresewing.com. Then go to my account.....top right.... that drops down a menu and the 4th option there is downloads. Good luck

Hi everyone. I am making the curved tote and have sewn on the invisible clasp. But the stitching is so obvs and NOT invisible like Debbie?s on the tutorial. Any suggestions or do i just go with it? The lining in lilac - maybe that makes a difference? I do have some allegedly invisible thread but I have never used it. I have enjoyed making the bias binding for the edges and I?m looking forward to the end result. I didnt start by using the gorgeous fabric in the pack, having a trial go first, but i am very happy with the results so far. Thanks in anticipation Judi
Laura replied: 9 May 24 at 21:45
I was happy with mine when I stitched them. I used a thread close to the colour of my calico lining and I didn?t backstitch at the beginning or end in case it left a nest of thread on the right side. I knotted off the ends at the back and hid the ends to the back. I think Debbie did sew them in on the Create and Craft video that she did a few Sundays ago. I am not sure they are meant to be totally invisible but more not as visible as the usual magnetic snaps that we are used to using. Hope this helps a little.

Hello, me again I am REALLY struggling to understand how to join the pairs of clamshells together. I just cannot get them to look like the picture/instructions. Please can you help?
barb replied: 6 May 24 at 19:35
What step are you on ? Can you maybe post some photos showing how far you have got as a starting point for others to help?

Please can someone explain how to sew the clamshells together for the BOM as I?m afraid I do not understand Melissa?s instructions and have no idea what to do ???????????. Thank you in advance. Jan
Laura replied: 5 May 24 at 14:36
Once you have placed the shells together as per Step 3 you are going to slip stitch the pieces together from the right side between the red line shown in the photograph on Step 3. There is a section about slip stitch under the tip icon which may help. https://www.halfyardsewingclub.com/tips/hand-sewing-for-beginners

How long do we have to make a pattern after we get the email it's about to be taken down? I know they can be downloaded but I'm thinking the video tutorial. Thanks!

Awesome, thanks Barb!

Someone has finished the sand already and looks great I'm finding the sand easier than the waves so far apart from the boring cutting out.
Mel replied: 3 May 24 at 12:32
Thanks, that?s mine. It?s not perfect, hence I?ve not trimmed it yet, it?s wide and long enough but not bang straight so I?m going to wait till the end construction phase and see how it fits then. If I need to redo at that time I will but hand sewing is not my favourite thing.
