Hi everyone! Some new adjustments have been made to the Seminole Waves block instructions in order to try and make it a bit easier. The downloadable instructions may take a couple of hours to update. Thank you all for your patience and please let us know where more clarification is needed! Best wishes, team HYSC x

Hello. Advice please. I am making the Zip lips clutch using oilcloth/ laminate and am at the point where I am top stitching either side of the zip. What needle should I use as of course it's quite a thickness to sew through. Would a denim needle work? Your advice much appreciated please. Jane Fx
Mel replied: 3 Apr 24 at 17:57
A denim needle should be ok or a microtex needle Jane

Well done who have made the waves I've given up for a few days but will try again.

I have done it but the instructions threw me it took a lot of reading and re reading walking away and many cups of tea . Iam very happy it?s done and you can do it . I think the pictures threw me having the white background and white and blue fabric made it difficult to see

BOTM 4 I struggled with the instructions at step 5 - from the words ?it doesn?t matter where? through steps 6, 7 and 8 However, I trimmed each strip as per Step 9 and joined then trimmed and it?s worked. Still wondering what the point of steps 6, 7 and 8 are for ????

Thanks Tina, glad you got yours in the end as well and that it wasn?t just me

Sorry But on starting this months BOTM we do not have enough width of fabric 2 to cut a 36.5 in the pack purchased from you ,do I need to join two strips together. Is this my fault should I have cut some larger bits first. I have gone back to the introductions and we are only told to get fabric 10 ready?
Tina J replied: 3 Apr 24 at 06:25
I had the same problem. Just cut two strips and make two sets then cut each set into 5. So long as you have 10 blocks of each it will be fine. I think maybe when I did the waves at the beginning I took of the side so made the fabric width shorter . Looking at the finished project not a lot more of this fabric will be needed so you should be fine. X

BOM 4 - Help please! I have completed the first step but am confused on step 2. When it says mark a line 3 inch from the seam line I get to the end of my fabric. Is it meant to be a different measurement or have I gone wrong? Thank you, Lucy
Lucy replied: 1 Apr 24 at 22:05
Thank you both for your help. I can see where I?ve gone wrong now. X

Sue replied: 3 Apr 24 at 17:33
Awww Laura, what a ??!! Thank you sooo much. I hadn?t compared mine to the picture, until just now. I can see I haven?t sewn it as shown. Here?s to the ?quick unpick?.

Hope this is ok as it?s not a question but just finished block 4 I found this block quite hard going I couldn?t in some places get my head round the instructions but it?s done ????????
Sue replied: 4 Apr 24 at 11:01
I too was worried about cutting my edges straight, but bit the bullet and it turned out ok. Stitched cut pieces to ends, ready for the next stage. It was difficult to see the pictures so thank you Laura for the link.

Hi I've asked a question about the lupins on the wreath but it's coming up Delete post. Why
barb replied: 1 Apr 24 at 14:42
When you open any post is gives you the option to delete it if you want to. by hitting the 'delete post button. Your post is still there. What thickness of felt are you using ? If its quite thin you might need to help it to open up a bit on the shape of the petals .
