Smocking Bolster Cushion Hello, I?ve started the process of making the bolster cover. Do I need to draw half inch lines on the grid horizontally and vertically? I can?t tell on the picture. Also, has anyone found a bolster cushion to fit? I can?t find one on Amazon that is the right size. Thank you for your help. Lucy

Thank you for your help. I?m underway with the grid and will look on eBay for a bolster. This is the grid so far. I hope it helps. Lucy

Hello I?ve just received the fabric bundle for this years BOTM a quilt. Before I get started, should I pre wash the fabric or not. I sometimes do this when dress making and depending on the fabric. Thank you

Personally I wouldn't pre wash, maybe give your fabric a blast of steam from the iron first...

I am using a continuous zip tape for the top of my sling bag with a zipper pull at each end. Do I sew the gusset on to zip tape with the pulls on or should I take the pulls off completely then attach them back after the gusset is sewn on? Thanks much.

Aww thanks Laura I was too eager. I am just reading Miss Debbie?s response again. You are correct. I get it now. Thanks so much. Like you planned for yourself, I am taking my time with it. I cut it the outer fabric on Sunday and the lining on Monday, and I started sewing it yesterday (Tuesday) a bit at a time. I hope to be done by Sunday God?s willing. ????????

Just sewn up my first circular pouch from the panel and found it too difficult to gather up into a pouch as the G700 interfacing made it too stiff to manage. I got there in the end but wouldn't want to do that every time I used the pouch. Does anyone know if the G700 backing can be removed from the fabric successfully. Thank you. Jean

Perhaps try a narrower ribbon/cord through the channel first as this might make a difference.

Hi, has anyone ever tried to 'repurpose' a silk scarf, I've got a few of my late Mother's which I'd like to sew into something but wondering if any has had similar experience, these are very very narrow pleated 'old style' ones.... thanks!
Linda replied: 9 Mar 24 at 14:03
Im so glad you asked this question as I have several of my late mums scarves that I want to repurpose.

the width of the fat quarter is fine . it doesn't need to be 23 inches.

FAO: HYSC team - The Crumb Cushion is one of the projects coming down (per the latest newsletter) and you have kindly provided the QR code on the instructions. When I try to access the video using the QR code however, it is asking me for a password which I don't have. Am I missing something as I don't think we usually need a password. Thank you.
